Bluetooth wont sync :(

I have an apple iPhone 4 with OS 7.1.2 (Jarv device states needs OS 7 or higher), my Bluetooth is enabled and when I get to the screen where your software is supposed to sync with it the "scan" button is grayed out and not available. I was so excited to try this and now I am disappointed and frustrated.
